Apple Ruling Opens New Doors for Community Apps

A new U.S. court ruling lifts Apple’s restrictions on external payments. TinyClub supports the move as a win for clubs, organizers, and community builders.

On April 30, a federal judge ruled that Apple must now allow US apps to link to external payments without charging a commission or imposing design constraints. Instead, users will simply be notified they’re leaving the app.

At TinyClub, we help people connect and create meaningful shared experiences. Sometimes that looks like a one-time gathering, but more often, people use TinyClub to sustain ongoing communities.

Many of these communities rely on tools like ticketing, dues, or memberships to stay active and grow. This decision gives us more flexibility to support them, without compromising the iOS experience.

We believe this development will help more clubs and organizers achieve financial stability while continuing to offer members a seamless, trusted app experience.
